Voiceover actress Lara Wilson has her doctorate from the University of South Carolina in vocal performance, specializing in teaching and singing popular vocal styles.  She also was the co-founder of the Charleston Chamber Opera in Charleston, SC, producing, directing and performing for the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, the Gibbes Museum Concert Series and the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Arts. Lara is currently an Assistant Professor of Voice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She taught previously  at Valdosta State University, UNC Pembroke, Coker University and the University of South Carolina

 

Also an experienced opera singer, Dr. Wilson's main-stage credits include appearances with Aiken Symphony, Columbia Choral Society, Savannah Philharmonic, Harrisburg Opera, Ridge Light Opera, Opera Northeast, Theater of Monmouth, New York Chamber Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, Natchez Opera Festival & New Bedford Symphony.  Lara debuted off-Broadway with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. 

 

In addition to her Doctorate, she holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from IU and Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music respectively.

 

Lara has voiced many commercials for national, regional and local companies such as Universal Theme Parks, Audible Audio Books, Diamond Walnuts, Chick-fil-a, Weight Watchers, Roper Saint Francis Hospital, the New York Yankees and Pivotal Fitness.
